Description
Manuel Llano is a PhD Candidate in the ERC SKILLNET project. He has a background in philosophy and book history, being introduced to Digital Humanities during his graduate studies. His current research focuses on scholarly networks in early modern Europe. Hence, his main interests in the digital field are social network analysis, agent-based modelling and data curation. In the course of his research, he works with Gephi and R to analyse and visualize learned correspondence, using regex, XSLT and some Python packages, among other approaches, to collect, clean and reconcile data. Recently, he has developed a growing interest in geospatial humanities and is exploring the potential of GIS for his research. In a more abstract level, he advocates for the use of computation in the humanities from a non-positivist, hermeneutical perspective.
